The fabric has some great qualities and I would recommend it to anyone. I am really looking forward to getting the suit tweaked so I can really test myself" Pat McGettigan "When I took my NXG suit of the bag, my first response was 'this thing is freaking huge'…it looked like a suit that was more fitted for madvig. I took it to the gym with me and tried to do some squatting…I try not to get too rah-rah about it, but the suit was unlike any suit I had tried. I think the only suit out there that I haven't tried at one point in time is the Hardcore…ant though the initial feedback I heard on it was good, it seemed to fizzle out…especially when the suit costs 150. The reason I think it looked so big is because the suit has NO GIVE! I had to go up to my usual second attempt to hit depth…with the lighter weight I was high as a kite. I guess anything I say about the new fabric is all talk until meet day…I compete in February…so I'll have a better idea what it is all about after that. Hopefully a PR squat…I definitely can't see it taking anything away from it. I hope when others try the suit…they give their feedback. I guess I'm cautious when I hear people say they get 20 kgs. extra than their regular suit…but after trying it in training, I don't find it THAT hard to believe." Steve Gavin "The NXG suits are the finest I've ever seen. In 2001 we will see these suits make a big impact on the Powerlifting world…Use your old suits as training suits; but get a custom NXG for your Meet (competition) suit. Stay ahead of your competition. This is cutting edge technology." Jim Ford "The new material kicks butt!!!!! Pete's been super- I got the right fit & my squats flew tonight! I'm looking forward to Nationals. It's super durable, but flexible enough to breathe in and control. I love it." Leslie Look "You are right the new stuff is crazy. I worked with the new suit about a week ago, hips are tight, chest is not…good stuff." Brad Madvig "The suit is unmatched. I recently competed and hit my 2nd best squat ever in it. Like Pat's , my suit was not tuned in perfectly, so I am really looked forward to one with the perfect fit. Thanks again Pete." PJ Chovanec "I tried my new squat suit monday. First i did 375 pounds (170 kg) with the straps down. I couldn`t go down deep, first time i tried the straps up they felt a little bit too tight. But the second time they felt ok. Then i did 507 pounds (230 kg) and i have do go down very slowly, it was very difficult to come down to a good depth. After that i did 550 pounds (250 kg) I could go down a little bit faster, I think I come down to a good depth and from there I just exploded up. It was very easy, my PR in the squat is 639 pounds (290 kg). After only 2 squats with the straps up I can tell you that I feel this suit is better than the one used before. This suit is easier to put on and take off, and it give you a much more explosive start from the bottom of the squat. I think I will have to change my squat technique a bit but that`s no problem. I will do 2 more workouts with this suit before the competition (9-10/2), I think I can do a PR in squat at that competition. " Jan Carlmark Back to SUITS page |
